Promoting Cayman’s connection to its Caribbean cultural roots, as well as the heart of carnival time in Grand Cayman, CayMAS Carnival is a festival of elaborate costumes, soca music, steel pan performances and much more.
CayMAS Carnival kicks off on Friday, May 17th in George Town’s waterfront with a celebration of musical competitions including Pan Explosion. After the winner has been announced, the crowd can move to either FLANT! Bubble Up foam wet fete at Seven Mile Beach from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM or the Renegade Mas/Scorch Duck Work from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Royal Palms Beach Club.
And on May 18th the streets come alive with the CayMAS Carnival Street Parade and Swanky’s AfterMAS Beach Fete. The street parade starts south of George Town and winds its way along West Bay Road on Seven Mile Beach for nearly seven miles of dancing and music until it arrives at Public Beach. The parade starts and 11:00 AM. The AfterMAS Beach Fete, featuring street food and music, will then be held at public beach from 5:30 PM until Midnight and tickets are $20 pre-sold and $30 at the gate.
But the celebrations don’t stop yet. On May 19th, take the party to the water with one of two boat parties with the ICONZ Cool Down Boat Cruise or the Renegate Mas/Scortch Cooler Cruise.
The 4 day festival ends with two final events on May 20th, a public holiday in Grand Cayman – Swanky Couture Breakfast Fete and LAST LAP at Cayman Cabana right in the heart of George Town on the waterfront. The Swanky Couture Breakfast Fete will be held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Beach Deck at the Kimpton Seafire Resort and Spa (formerly Tiki Beach). A celebration of talented women, this features performances by Ladies of Steel Attitude Steel Pan Trio, special guest Artist and 5 different DJs.
