Patek Philippe’s Exclusive Traveling Collection Event
A unique, one-of-a-kind collection of watches traveling the world to be viewed by watch experts, collectors and connoisseurs arrives in Cayman.
Patek Philippe’s unique, one-of-a-kind Travelling Collection arrived in intrepid style at The National Gallery of The Cayman Islands. The exclusive event held on January 24th granted intimate access for 50 hand picked watch experts, collectors and connoisseurs to experience the unique collection of watches, and to meet with guest of honor Laura Ferrai, Director Patek Philippe Latin American and the Caribbean.
In a bid to showcase their watchmaking expertise the Travelling Collection does not follow a rule book for watchmakers. Instead, Patek Philippe believes that watchmaking comes from the heart. The watchmakers behind the Travelling Collection worked in perfect harmony for up to 7 years on each timepiece to create something truly unique.
“It’s the passion that guides the process and this is just one example of the difference that being family owned makes to the creation of watches” Said Chris Kirkconnell, VP of Operations for Kirk Freeport.
Like the name suggests, the Travelling Collection boasts a variety of watch styles from contemporary watches with self-winding mechanical movement to vintage self-winding versions with diamond-set bezels that echo the profile of Patek Philippe classics.
Set amongst the stars at The National Gallery, the lawn was transformed in to a watch face with a fire pillar in the centre and tables spread around it. Guests were treated to a 6 course meal prepared by Prime Kitchen and Chef Dylan. The evening was further illuminated by performances from The French Horn Collective, a Miami based band, and stunning search lights provided beacons in the sky.
After the event the collection was moved to a special display in Bayshore Mall for one week, and has now set course for a new destination.
